Blair's East Texas Fishing Guide - Spotlight

I was born and raised in East Texas and have fished these waters as long a I can remember.  I love being outdoors and consider it a privilege to share that experience with others.  I enjoy showing people what they sometimes miss in this fast paced world we now live in.  I want to give everyone, the whole family,  a place where they can go to relax and have fun.  I use a 22' center console Mako boat, which gives plenty of room to fish.  I primarly fish for bass, stripers, catfish, and about anything that's biting.  I guide in Lake Nacogdoches, Lake Palestine, and Sam Rayburn Resevoir.  I not only take people fishing, but have been asked to do day trips on the water just for them to relax and sightsee.  I want everyone to have a fun and relaxing time and to leave with a smile and some good stories.   So pick a lake and give me a call!

  1. We visit East Texas every summer, and for the past three years, we've gone fishing with Vaughn. Our, now 8 year old, son has a blast catching fish. It's been a very family frendly experience, one that has become a tradition that we all look forward to!

  3. I'm in college at SFA in Nacogdoches, and after finals, a friend and I spend the day on the boat out in the water. After the stress in school, being on the lake is the perfect way to relax!

  5. Monday October 19,I had another crappie trip at Lake Murvaul in the afternoon. The fishing was a little slow, but the fish were good keepers and he limited out. That's still 25 fish he was able to take home and a good way to end a beautiful fall day.

  6. It is Tuesday October 20,2009. The fall weather is great. The temperature is in the 70's and Lake Palestine is full. The bass are on right now and so are the crappie. We caught bass everwhere we stopped to fish. It's the time of the year that bass are getting ready for winter and will bite just about anything. So grab a friend and let's hit the water.

  7. It is Thursday, October 22,the weather is rainy and a cool front is coming in. The amount of rain we had is going to slow the fish down but Friday is going to be sunny. By Saturday and Sunday the bite should be on. So while the weather is rainy and cool get the hooks sharp and lets hit the water Saturday & Sunday.

  10. We went crappie fishing Nov.7th at Lake Murvaul.
Because of all the rain we've had in October, the water was pretty stained, but we still managed to get some nice keepers. If the weather stays clear for a couple of weeks, the water should clear up nicely.

  12. I went crappie fishing with a guy and his 10 year old son on Nov.29,2009. As I watched them fish, I thought of me and my boy and all of our fishing adventures and the memories we've made. I wish more people would take time for their kids and enjoy this world a little more. Get out of the fast pace for a while. It's not always about how many fish you catch. It's about making lifetime memories.

  13. The weather is getting better and not near as cold. Last week it was 9 here in east Texas and a few days of it. The crappie should start to get hot here if we don't get a lot of rain. So get those jigs ready and let's hit the water!
